Equity Insurance Company Ltd. Reaffirms Commitment to Policyholders and Strengthening Operations
Bridgetown, Barbados – August 18, 2025 – Equity Insurance Company Ltd. (“Equity”) today reassures its valued policyholders and the Barbadian public that all existing policies remain valid and in force, and that claims and customer service will continue without interruption.
The Financial Services Commission (“FSC”) has taken steps to place Equity under enhanced supervision. While the Commission has appointed a Manager to work with the company, Equity wishes to emphasize that:
- Policyholders remain fully protected. All current policies continue to be honoured.
- Claims and renewals will proceed as usual. Policyholders may renew policies at their discretion, and claims processing will continue seamlessly.
- Our team remains committed to service. Equity’s dedicated staff will continue working closely with the appointed Manager to ensure smooth operations.
- Business as Usual. While no new policies will be issued at this time, policyholders and intermediaries can otherwise continue to conduct business as usual.
Equity acknowledges the FSC’s concerns regarding strengthening governance and internal systems. The company has already begun implementing corrective measures and remains committed to meeting the highest standards of regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
